The Short Answer
Disputed and Justt both handle chargebacks end to end. Disputed is built for enterprise merchants receiving 1,000 or more chargebacks a month. It reads your data through read-only access to your data warehouse, so you're live with full customer, order and support data in as little as two weeks, and it finds the root causes behind your chargebacks. Pricing is a flat fee per dispute, as low as $10 fully managed, with no share of what you recover.
Justt is a fully managed chargeback service that connects to your processor first, takes the rest of your data by API, CSV or prebuilt connectors, and charges a percentage of the revenue they recover.
Choose Disputed if you want the platform to fit your existing enterprise systems, control over how disputes get worked, and a dispute cost that doesn't grow with the size of each recovery.
Choose Justt if you get less than 1,000 chargebacks a month and want to pay only when a dispute is won.
Key Takeaways
- In a 33-week head-to-head test at one enterprise merchant, Disputed recovered $38k more for every $1 million non-fraud dispute dollars it fought for than Justt.
- Disputed connects read-only to your data warehouse, so enterprise merchants are live with full customer, order and support data in as little as two weeks without an integration build.
- Any connector a merchant needs is built during Disputed's onboarding, which runs alongside your legal, security and procurement review.
- Disputed can run fully managed, self-managed or headless. Justt is fully managed, with an admin tool to review or override their decisions.
- Disputed charges a flat fee per dispute, as low as $10 for fully managed, that stays the same whatever the dispute is worth. Justt takes a percentage of recovered revenue and charges nothing on lost disputes.

How We Compared
We compared Justt and Disputed on what enterprise buyers raise on our sales calls: how each one connects to your systems, how much engineering it takes, who works the disputes, how fight-or-accept gets decided, what each one tells you about the cause of your chargebacks, and what it costs. Justt details come from their public pages, checked October 13, 2026.
The head-to-head result comes from one enterprise merchant that split its disputes between both vendors. An independent payments expert familiar with both platforms reviewed this page for accuracy.
Head-to-Head Results
At one enterprise merchant, Disputed and Justt each handled part of the merchant’s non-fraud disputes on the same processor in a 33-week comparison. The result?
Disputed recovered 11% more chargeback revenue than Justt.
Over those 33 weeks, Disputed recovered 39.7% of the non-fraud dispute dollars it fought for, against 35.9% for Justt. That’s about 11% more recovered of every disputed dollar fought for.
What that rate difference means in dollars
For every $1 million in non-fraud chargebacks fought:
$38k more recovered with Disputed
This is one merchant. If you're weighing both vendors, a split test on your own disputes will tell you more than either vendor's numbers.
Getting Live: Onboarding and Your Data
The biggest difference between the two shows up before the first dispute is worked: how your data gets to the vendor, and how much of your team's time that takes.
What "live" means
Justt's FAQ puts go-live at 3-5 business days after your processor is connected, and says you can go live before adding any of your own data. Your processor holds the payment record: the card, the amount, the reason code and often the billing details. It usually doesn't hold what the customer bought, whether it arrived, or what they told your support team. A strong evidence packet needs all of that.
Justt takes that data by API, CSV upload or one of their prebuilt connectors to tools like your helpdesk, commerce platform or subscription billing. How much work that is depends on how many systems your data lives in and whether a connector exists for each one. In our experience enterprise merchants with several systems have been quoted months for a full integration.
Disputed takes as little as two weeks to start with the full picture. Enterprise merchants usually already collect data from their other systems into a data warehouse, through the same pipelines their analytics and marketing tools use. Disputed reads from that warehouse, so your engineers don't have to build an integration, and merchants are live with full customer, order and support data in as little as two weeks.

Read-only access
Disputed's warehouse connection is read-only. Disputed reads the data it needs to build evidence and analyze causes, and doesn't write to your systems. For security and data teams, that's a smaller review than granting write access or standing up a new data feed. Your security review will still cover what Disputed reads and how it's stored, and Disputed works through that review with you.

Connectors built during onboarding
Disputed connects to all the major PSPs. When a merchant runs on a processor, gateway or internal system that isn't connected yet, Disputed builds that connector as part of onboarding. So far, building one hasn't extended onboarding: the work runs alongside everything else. You don't need to adapt your stack to fit a list of supported tools.
Onboarding that runs with your review process
Every enterprise client takes Disputed through legal review, security review and an AI governance policy. Disputed's setup runs alongside those reviews instead of waiting for them, with a team that has been through them many times.
Running It: Who Works the Disputes, and How Much Control You Keep
Three ways to run it
Both vendors offer a fully managed service, where the vendor works your disputes. Disputed offers two more options:
You can start with one and move to another as your team's needs change.
What you see on every case
Disputed reviews each case and works out what happened, why it happened, how to resolve it, and whether it's worth fighting. That reasoning is shown on the case. Your team can override any recommendation, or let Disputed act on them automatically once you trust them.
Justt's admin tool also lets you review and override recommendations and set automated policies.
Deciding whether to fight
Justt decides fight or accept on projected dollar return, weighing the likelihood of winning, the fees involved and the value of the chargeback. Disputed weighs projected return too, and adds the dispute's underlying cause: a customer disputing an order they received is a different case from one whose billing descriptor confused them.

Finding What Drives Your Chargebacks
A won dispute still counts toward your chargeback ratio, so the disputes you prevent matter more than the ones you win.
Every case Disputed works produces structured data, so patterns across thousands of disputes become visible:
Each of those patterns points to disputes you can prevent. Disputed also monitors your chargeback ratios, so you see where they're heading before a monitoring threshold.
Justt's Insights dashboard reports on chargeback causes and explains changes in monthly performance.
What It Costs
Pricing checked October, 2026.
How each one charges
Disputed charges a flat fee for each dispute that runs through the platform, as low as $10 for fully managed, $5 for self-managed or $1 for headless. The fee is the same whatever the dispute is worth, and whether the case is won, lost or accepted.
Justt charges nothing on lost disputes and takes a percentage of the revenue they recover. They don't publish the rate. In our experience with merchants who use this pricing model, the percentage isn't always a single flat rate: it can change with the win rate, with an added per-dispute charge above a threshold. Ask for the full schedule in writing, including how a win is defined.
What that means for your budget
The size of the dispute. A percentage fee grows with every dollar recovered. At a hypothetical 20% rate, a won $500 dispute costs $100 and a won $50 dispute costs $10. A per-dispute fee is the same on both, so the higher your dispute values, the bigger the difference.
Losses. With recovery-based pricing, you pay nothing on a dispute you lose. With per-dispute pricing, every dispute that runs through the platform is billed. That's the tradeoff for a fee that doesn't scale with recovery.
Forecasting. A per-dispute fee fixes the unit price, so finance can budget from a chargeback forecast. A percentage of recovery moves with results, which makes the bill harder to set in advance.
Fight-or-accept. Because Disputed earns the same on a fought or accepted case, the fee itself doesn't push the recommendation either way.
If most of your chargebacks are under about $40, percentage-of-recovery pricing can cost less. Our breakdown of the four ways chargeback vendors charge works through the math at different order values.

- 06You want to find and fix what's driving chargebacks across the business, not only respond to them.
Justt may fit if
- 01You want a fully managed service and prefer to pay only when a dispute is won.

Disputed charges a flat fee per dispute, as low as $10 for fully managed, $5 for self-managed or $1 for headless, with no percentage of recovery. The fee is the same whatever the dispute is worth. Clients report recovering as much as $14.80 for every $1 spent.
How long does it take to set up Disputed compared with Justt?
Justt's FAQ quotes 3-5 business days after your processor is connected, and lets you go live before any of your own data is sent. Customer, order and support data then goes to Justt by API, CSV or a prebuilt connector. Disputed reads that data from your data warehouse with read-only access, so enterprise merchants are live with full data in as little as two weeks, and any connector a merchant needs is built during onboarding.
Does Disputed need access to write to my systems?
No. Disputed's data warehouse connection is read-only. Your security review still covers what Disputed reads and how it's stored.
What are Justt's pros and cons?
Pros: a fully managed service, nothing to pay on lost disputes, a fast start on processor data, and prebuilt connectors for many processors and tools. Cons: no published rate, a fee that grows with the value of each recovery, and full evidence depends on sending Justt your data by API, CSV or connector.
What are the best Justt alternatives for enterprise merchants?
Disputed is built for enterprise merchants receiving 1,000 or more chargebacks a month, with a read-only data warehouse connection, three service options and flat per-dispute pricing.
How do I switch from Justt to Disputed?
If you're considering switching, reach out to Disputed to talk through a plan built around your setup. It will likely look something like this. Route new disputes to Disputed first, then move your alert enrollment (CDRN, RDR, Ethoca). Let open cases finish with Justt, including any in pre-arbitration, and remove Justt's processor access last. Check your Justt service agreement for notice terms before setting a date.
Our Verdict
Justt is a fully managed service with a long list of prebuilt connectors and pricing that charges only when a dispute is won. For a merchant who wants to hand disputes off and pay on results, that's a reasonable choice.
For enterprise merchants handling 1,000 or more chargebacks a month, Disputed is the stronger fit, for these reasons.
It fits the systems you already have. Read-only access to your warehouse, any connector you need built during onboarding, and full data in as little as two weeks.
You decide how it runs. Fully managed, self-managed in the platform, or headless through the API and MCP server. Every case shows what happened, why and what Disputed recommends, and your team can override it.
The cost doesn't grow with each recovery. A flat fee per dispute, as low as $10 for fully managed dispute response, that finance can budget from a chargeback forecast. Clients report recovering as much as $14.80 for every $1 spent.
It shows you what's driving your chargebacks. AI root-cause analysis on every chargeback finds the patterns behind them, so you can prevent the disputes a win wouldn't take off your ratio.
The team learns your business, and so does the AI. Context Disputed's team gathers about your business is built into the AI that works your cases. When you raise a problem, the team investigates and reports back on the cause and the fix. Disputed's team ran payments and dispute operations on the merchant side, at scale, before building the product, and builds from what clients ask for.
